SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A woman riding an e-bike was seriously injured after colliding with a vehicle’s mirror in San Diego Saturday afternoon, San Diego Police report.
Officers were called to the scene around 12:40 p.m. Saturday at Fairmount Avenue and Montezuma Road in the Talmadge neighborhood of San Diego.
A 54-year-old woman was riding an e-bike north on Fairmount Avenue when San Diego Police say she left the bike lane “prematurely” and entered the lane to transition onto Montezuma Road while a vehicle being driven by a 66-year-old man was driving on the ramp from Montezuma Road onto Fairmount Avenue.
Police say the e-bike rider struck the vehicle’s driver-side mirror. The woman suffered a fractured hip, a fractured wrist, and was taken to a San Diego hospital.
