Elijah Green Beaten in Shocking Racial Hate Crime at Concert

*Elijah Green, a 17-year-old African American high school student, was brutally attacked on Saturday, May 24, during a music concert in Palmdale, California (approximately 50-60 miles NE of Los Angeles). A viral video shows a mob of white and Latino adults yelling racial slurs and violently beating him.

The disturbing footage captures Elijah being stomped and kicked in the head while screams of “Get that Nigg@” echo in the background. The video has sparked outrage online and across civil rights groups.

Witnesses say the assault was unprovoked and targeted. Elijah was completely outnumbered and overpowered by the group. Civil rights activist Najee Ali, senior organizer for Los Angeles Metropolitan Churches, has stepped in to support the Green family.

“To see Elijah helpless as he’s being stomped on and kicked in the head by this mob of grown men… reminded me of our ancestors who were beaten and lynched by mobs of racist men,” Ali stated. He is urging the community to rally against this hate crime.
